Job-search websites join forces to help job-seekers with disabilities.

Hire Disability Solutions (HDS) has recently partnered with career networking site Monster.com, according to an HDS press release.

HDS, which was started in 2004, seeks to create equal opportunities for potential employees with disabilities. The HDS website allows job-seekers with disabilities to submit information about their skills, and then find a career that utilizes their skills. The goal is "to see abilities before disabilities."

Monster.com is a site that allows anyone looking for a job to get help creating and posting a resume, and search through a listing of job "want ads." By joining forces with Monster, HDS has now created the largest online career network for those with disabilities.

Jeffrey Klare, founder of HDS, explains that the collaboration is significant. "Together, our companies can play an important role in connecting employers and job seekers with disabilities, a group that has been largely overlooked in the past."

Because Monster.com was not easily accessible to persons with disabilities, it wasn't easy for disabled users to create accounts. HDS has created a site that is easier for the disabled to navigate, and already has an established group of users. Combining the online tools of HDS with the networking power of Monster has made it easier for employers to notice qualified disabled job-seekers.
