Wells Fargo and Whirlpool to receive Helen Keller Awards

The Helen Keller Achievement Awards for 2007 have been announced by the American Foundation for the Blind. According to the AFB Website, Wells Fargo Bank will receive the award for Corporate Responsibility for providing outstanding customer service to all people with disabilities, the Whirlpool Corporation will receive the award for Accessibility for manufacturing accessible appliances for people with vision loss, and New York’s Lieutenant Governor David A Paterson will receive the Personal Achievement Award for being an exemplary role model for people who are blind or visually impaired.

The awards will be presented at a ceremony at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel on May 31, 2007. Former Oakland Raiders quarterback and Super Bowl MVP Jim Plunkett will be the master of ceremonies.
