The Portable Garden

Posted March 10th, 2008

If you would like to start a garden this spring, the American Foundation for the Blind offers some tips:
• Try container gardening—you won’t have to dig a garden bed
• Use bigger pots for plants such as tomatoes, peppers, cabbage, and beets
• Use smaller pots for your favorite herbs, spinach, and radishes
• Instead of buying pots, try recycling plastic quart containers or five-gallon buckets
