Read This to Me, Please
Posted April 28th, 2008For persons who are blind, visually impaired, or who have reading disabilities and who need documents read to them, "Read This to Me" offers a free reading service.
Through the service, documents can be faxed, toll-free, to volunteer readers who then read them over the phone.
The organization’s readers will read most documents, but it is recommended that only five to ten pages be faxed at one time. Documents containing confidential information should not be sent.
Since "Read This to Me" uses real people to read the documents, it avoids the problems that arise with computerized reading programs.
"Read This to Me" serves residents of the United States and Canada.
