Unconstitutional Money
Posted May 20th, 2008A federal appeals court ruled, May 20 that the United States discriminates against people who are blind because different values of its paper money cannot be distinguished by touch. The lawsuit was brought by the American Council of the Blind in 2002, and this latest ruling upholds the lower court’s 2006 decision. This could lead to paper money having differing dimensions or other tactile features to distinguish between denominations.
