Presidential Candidates to Address Disability Policy Plans
Posted July 22nd, 2008Disaboom.com, an online resource for people touched by disability, has announced that it will webcast the National Forum on Disability Issues, a nonpartisan forum to be held in Columbus, Ohio. The forum will give candidates for the US presidency opportunity to present their visions for the future of disability policy in America.
The forum will be webcast live on disaboom.com Saturday, July 26, 2008, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. EDT. Prior registration is required at www.disaboom.com/AAPDSignUp.aspx to view the webcast live. A video of the forum will also be available for download at www.disaboom.com following the live webcast.
Presumptive presidential nominees Senator Barack Obama and Senator John McCain have both been invited to participate and present their disability policy plans individually. Presentations will be followed by a moderated question and answer session, which will cover such topics as employment, healthcare, long-term community-based support, transportation, and education.
