Houses of Worship for All People
Posted July 24th, 2008The American Association of People with Disabilities oversees a program that promotes and supports access to houses of worship for people with disabilities. Formerly operated by the National Organization on Disability, the AAPD Interfaith Initiative serves people with disabilities, their families, congregations, seminaries, and denominational and faith groups. The AAPD will formally launch the initiative in September.
The organization provides tools and techniques that can be used to make the congregation welcoming and accessible to people with disabilities.
