Recycling for Sight
Posted August 6th, 2008For many people in developing nations, used prescription glasses are drastically improving their quality of life. Thanks to the Lions Clubs International Eyeglass Recycling Program, glasses that would probably get trashed are finding their way to people with poor vision around the world.
According to Lions Clubs International, millions of people lack access to basic eye care services and corrective lenses. One particular need is children’s eyeglasses.
Lions Clubs collect eyeglasses—both prescription and nonprescription, which are then sent to their eyeglass recycling centers and are prepared for reuse.

I think that is wonderful. I have seen a program called The 700 Club, and, they do that all the time. I hope these people that need the eyeglasses use them for many years to come. thank you for sharing this wonderful article.
