“Salvation is found in no one else…” Acts 4:12

After thinking more about my devotionals on the book of Acts, I began to wonder if I had come on too strong about a "works" view of the Christian life. So let me be clear; I do need to connect in a very intentional way with Jesus if I want my Christian life to make sense. I cannot work my way to heaven, but I must "work out" the application of the gospel to my life in this sin-infested, God-doubting world.

Acts 3:19-20 says, "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Christ, who has been appointed for you—even Jesus" (itallics mine).

Peter knew the secret to Salvation. Along with his plea to repent, he also explains who will wipe out all your sins. This text puts a Christian's "works" back into perspective.

Back to Acts 4:12: "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

Salvation can only be found in a name. There is one name, says Peter, by which we must be saved. Peter made it clear to the rulers and elders of his day how to find Salvation. I want to be sure it’s clear to you and me.

Let’s keep this simpleJesus. Jesus is the only way to Salvation. That's all I need to say!

Have a great day with confidence in His name.
