"See what love the Father has for us, that we should be called sons of God. And so we are." 1 John 3:1

As I think about the most significant texts for my personal spiritual life, 1 John 3:1 has to rank up there near the top.  When I focus on the Father's love for me, His willingness to call me His son, and John's editorial agreement—“And so we are!"—I find great assurance and hope.

It's not about my trying to love God enough, it's about Him already loving me enough.

It's not about my trying to earn my way into His family, it's about Him already deciding that I am family.

It's not about me wondering if it's true, it's about Him confirming that it's true.

Have a great day in absolute assurance that you are a child of the God who loves you.
